Ring2 Conferencing Wins Best of FOSE from Government Computer News - press release
Posted: Wednesday, April 02, 2008
SAN FRANCISCO, April 2nd, 2008 – Government Computer News (GCN) announced today that Ring2 Conferencing (www.ring2.com), the world’s first audio-conferencing company to offer remote control of conference calls from a mobile device, is a winner of the Best of FOSE 2008. The award was given to the best new product in the Audio/Visual/Surveillance category at the FOSE 2008 show, 1st-3rd April, Washington, DC.
Wyatt Kash, Editor-in-Chief, GCN said “With so many quality submissions, we struggled to narrow down the 2008 GCN Best of FOSE winners, suggesting once again the degree of technology innovation that companies are focusing on for public sector applications.”
”It’s an honor for us to be recognized by Government Computer News as the Best of FOSE," said Steve Flavell, Ring2’s co-CEO. “Our mobile call management application for BlackBerry® smartphones brings must-have security to audio conference calls in governmental communications.”
As 75 percent of conference calls are made away from the desk (40 percent from meeting rooms) where users often do not have their PCs at hand, Ring2 offers audio conferencing remote control from a mobile device. When the first participant joins a call, the call leader receives instant notification on their BlackBerry smartphone and is able to see a real-time display of participants with a single click. The call leader can then manage the call remotely – isolating and muting specific participants with background noise, adding missing participants to the conference from the device address book or recording the call.
