SES AMERICOM Chooses Ring2 for Secure Conference Calls - press release
Posted: Monday, November 19, 2007
LONDON - November 19, 2007 - Ring2 Conferencing, the world's first audio-conferencing company to offer remote control of calls from a mobile device, announced today that SES AMERICOM, the largest supplier of satellite services in the US, has selected Ring2 as its conferencing service provider. SES AMERICOM's employees can now control their conference calls directly from their BlackBerry smartphones and the web.
With many of its executives and sales representatives often on the road or in the field, SES AMERICOM sought to offer employees a simple means of remotely collaborating with team members, partners and customers. Security of calls was a key concern, and critical to the selection of Ring2 was its ability to protect against uninvited participants gaining access to calls. Ring2's remote control of calls from the BlackBerry allows the call host to monitor who's on the call at all times.
'Ring2's service offers us improved security and control of our many conference calls,' said Linda McNeil, IT remote support specialist for SES AMERICOM. 'The call host can see at a glance who is on their call, can mute participants with distracting background noise, and can add other callers by number or directly from their BlackBerry address book.'
'Hours spent on conference calls are growing rapidly worldwide,' said Steve Flavell, co-CEO, Ring2 Conferencing, 'Ring2 makes those hours as secure and stress-free as possible. We are delighted that SES AMERICOM has chosen our unique service for its conferencing needs.'
Ring2 currently offers remote control from BlackBerry smartphones and Windows Mobile devices. Support for certain Symbian® and Palm® devices is planned for 2008.
